The trend of Tinted Skin

*AD - Please note that some of the products mentioned in this post were gifted to me for a review

Although summer is just wrapping up, I am still in my summery mode as I am just about to take off for my summer holiday in Croatia and therefore all I can think about is summer beauty trends. The same as last year, tinted moisturisers are the way to go. There have been many new releases since last summer and I would like to share my thoughts on a couple of them (disclaimer: I am unsure if the products in question were actually released in 2023 haha, but they are certainly new to my beauty world).

La Roche Posay: Anthelios UVMUNE 400 tinted fluid

A while ago I reviewed the Anthelios UVMUNE 400 invisible fluid with SPF50 from La Roche Posay and I really enjoyed testing it. True, I have found some cheaper dupes since then but that does not change my opinion on this magical SPF. I have also reviewed the Anthelios Mineral One, also from LRP and it still remains one of my favourite makeup/skin products for the summer. Now, I will share some thoughts on another product from La Roche Posay which is a mix of both products mentioned - Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Tinted fluid

The SPF50 fluid comes in 50 ml plastic bottle. The consistency is the same as for the invisible fluid - very runny. It soaks into the skin easily and leaves it nice and glowy. And tinted!

The tint is much lighter than the Anthelios Mineral One. It does not cover red spots or scars but it gives the skin the tint and glow so it is ideal for the no makeup makeup days when I want to look very natural but am too pale to go away without any makeup (I mean... the contrast between my skin and the circles under my eyes is not great leaving me looking like a walking corpse sometimes). The light tint evens out the skin creating a much healthier look without looking like I have any makeup on.

I am not sure if the colour (there is only one shade) is the best match but since the cover is just very sheer, it does not seem to be an issue. If you want to see this product in action, head over to my Instagram.

Lancaster: Infinite Bronze

Have you noticed the recent trend of bronzing drops for the face? It started with Drunk Elephant and now every brand seems to release some sort of bronzing equivalent. Unfortunately, all those products are always sold out and the only thing just remotely related to bronzing drops I could find is the Infinite Face Bronzer from Lancaster

The cream provides SPF15 and can be described as a brown cream that melts into the skin leaving it looking tanned. The colour seems a bit too dark for me so I mix it with my SPF cream which results in a nice tanned mix.

Again, I use this blend on my no-makeup days but in this instance, I do not add anything else on - no mascara or concealer. This mixture is my way of pretending that I am actually tanned lol. And it seems to be working.

Do not expect this bronzing cream to provide much moisture - it is clearly not a replacement for any moisturiser and it looks the best on well-hydrated skin.
I cannot compare Lancaster’s bronzing cream to the popular bronzing drops but I think it’s fairly decent if the bronzing is what you are looking for. Moreover, it is not too expensive so if your budget is tight, this bronzer may be an okay solution.

Summer 2022: The Age of tinted moisturisers

AD - Some products mentioned were gifted by Notino

I have said it many times - foundations are my favourite product to review. Following the current makeup trends, you probably know we ditched all heavy full coverage foundations and moved on to tinted moisturisers. I personally fell in love with them only after I managed to get some tan. Before then, I just needed some coverage (tell me you are too pale without actually telling me you are too pale).

Notino Black Friday

The first tinted moisturiser we will look at is a viral tinted Anthelios Mineral One SPF50+ cream from La Roche-Posay which I picked as it was a part of the Summer Black Friday promo. I got the shade Medium to match my slightly tanned skin and it works out well. However, I think the shade is not a big deal when it comes to tinted moisturisers as the pigment is minimal. The cream evens out the skin and makes it look healthy and juicy. It feels light on the skin and it looks natural, yet it looks great as a base for full face makeup.

The cream is quite thick. At first, it rubs in (I apply using my fingers rather than a sponge and brush) quite easily but then it gets weirdly thick. It is nothing that would put me off this La Roche-Posay moisturiser because overall it is great and it lasts but it surprised me at first. I am also not sure, how well it does on oily skin as it is well moisturising but it suits my dry-ish/normal skin perfectly.

If you are looking for something cheaper, I can only recommend tinted cream Hydro Hero from Essence which is a super affordable brand that offers so many gems. This tinted cream is one of them. I bought this in one of the local drug stores in Croatia but you can buy it from Notino in the UK.

The cream comes in a 30ml bottle (the same as the LRP cream). It is very runny compared to the LRP cream and disappears into the skin within seconds. Once it absorbs, it feels like you have nothing on your face apart from the fact your tone is even. It keeps the skin looking fresh for a while but unlike the Anthelios cream, this effect does not last the whole day as this cream dries out eventually.

It offers only SPF15 but I use SPF cream prior as a part of my morning routine anyway, so that does not bother me. For the price, you cannot get wrong with this one. I loved wearing this tint to the beach when I did not feel like doing my makeup but I also wanted a photo for Instagram lol.

La Roche-Posay: Hyalu B5 Serum - Review

AD - Gifted for review

I have tried many different skin serums since I started to take care of my skin. Despite having a fairly good experience with many compounds, I always seem to go back to Hyaluronic Acid-based serums. HA is ideal for any skin type but if you struggle with dryness and dehydrated skin, HA will be your holy grail.
