My new caramel obsession

t’s only January, yet this may already be my personal beauty discovery of the year.

Arabic perfumes have been steadily gaining momentum, but I long associated them with intensely strong, overtly oriental compositions. While I’ve always appreciated these scents on others — fleeting, intriguing, unmistakably memorable — the idea of wearing one all day felt unrealistic. With scent-triggered migraines, overly heavy perfumes are not optional.

That assumption, however, proved entirely wrong.

After months of quiet curiosity, I finally gave in to the popular Eclair perfume collection by Lattafa. Choosing a scent was surprisingly difficult. The collection offers three variations — the original caramel, Banoffi, and Pistachio — each tempting in its own right.

After careful consideration, I chose the original. I had been drawn to the idea of a vanilla-caramel fragrance for some time, and based purely on its description, this felt like the most timeless and versatile option.

The bottle itself is striking. Decadent yet balanced, it feels intentionally luxurious rather than excessive. Substantial in weight and beautifully finished, it gives the impression of a far higher price point — despite the 100 ml bottle retailing at approximately £30–£40, depending on availability.

The scent delivers exactly what it promises. A warm vanilla-caramel composition that feels rich without becoming cloying. It leans gourmand but remains composed, with a depth that ensures impressive longevity while never crossing into overpowering territory.

In conclusion, this was an unexpectedly refined introduction to Arabic perfumery. For anyone intrigued by the category but hesitant to begin, Eclair by Lattafa is an elegant and approachable starting point.
